Announcements (December 9, 2020)

Lake levels are at winter levels.  Parking areas are available to members at the Clubhouse and the Yellow Gate.  The dumpster is closed and will be reopened for members' household garbage in the spring. Please do not place any items near the dumpster.
Please remember that our cameras are operational.

Kindly note that our treasurer has changed his email address.
If you have not received a notice from him, let us know and we will provide his address for your records.

(Prior Updates:)
The annual shareholder meeting was held on Labor Day Weekend - September 6, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at the Clubhouse.  The Call to Meeting is available on the Member Documents page and draft minutes will be posted there once available.

We are so thankful for all of our members and the efforts they have taken throughout the Coronavirus emergency to keep everyone (and our neighbors) safe.

The Hudson Valley region continues in Phase 4 of the reopening under NY-FORWARD (as we have since July 7th).  As we continue in Phase 4, we remind everyone to stay safe by remaining vigilant, practice social distance and use masks when within six feet of someone not from your household.  Phase 4 still allows for social gatherings of up to 50 people together, and our programs were designed to ensure these limits.

As an example, our annual sailboat regatta was held on August 15th and our golf event went forward on Friday, July 10th at Lochmor Golf Course. The Kids' Fishing Contest proceeded on Saturday, July 11th, but without the regular BBQ and awards ceremony.  Our Member/Guest Fishing Contest went forward the following weekend under the same guidance.  Unfortunately, the annual Fireworks Show was cancelled and will return next summer.

More news and updates are shared periodically in membership emails, on the Events tab of this website and on our Facebook Group Page.
Keep up the good work everyone!

In light of the state of emergency issued by Governor Cuomo as well as Sullivan County and the Town of Fallsburg, the Fallsburg Fishing & Boating Club is aware of the need to adjust our methods and services to respond to the COVID-19/Coronavirus here in our community and the nation.  The Board of Directors and Club President James Creighton have been meeting and will continue to do so as needed during this emergency; periodic messages will be delivered here and via email and Facebook to keep our members informed regarding news on Pleasure Lake. Please ensure that you are adhering to social distancing and personal hygiene recommendations.  There shall be no congregating on Club properties in groups larger than 50 during Phase 4.  Masks must be worn whenever passing within 6 feet of another person.  We will continue to provide essential services for our FF&BC community in a safe manner.

The lake levels remain at summer levels, and the Club roads are in good shape.  Lake levels are expected to begin dropping to winter levels on or about November 1st.  We remain hopeful for a moderate winter.
The Clubhouse remains open with water service and the bathroom is operational;  and we encourage everyone to wash hands regularly.  The dumpster is open until the last week of November and is available for member cabin household garbage ONLY.  Please keep in mind that the cameras are working and are constantly monitored.  Internet service is available at the Clubhouse for those that require broadband for schoolwork or conference calls (please reach out if you need ID/password credentials).

Avoid soft areas during and after storm events.

Parking areas at the yellow gate and at the clubhouse are always open for your use.

Please be sure that all docks and boats are properly secured so that they do not break free during storm events, etc.

House Rule AW (Amended)
As part of our ongoing efforts to preserve the Pleasure Lake watershed, and at the direction of the membership at the Club's Annual Meeting on September 2, 2018, the Board of Directors has amended House Rule AW (effective 1/1/2019):
“A new member land preservation assessment fee of $3,000 will be collected from every new member to the Club upon any transfer of a share except a transfer between spouses or between a parent and a child where no consideration is exchanged. Revenues from the new member land preservation assessment fee shall be deposited in the Club’s Land Purchase Fund. Such assessment fee shall apply to any transfer of shares occurring on or after January 1, 2019. The purpose of this assessment is to assist with the funding plan to preserve Pleasure Lake and its surrounding watershed. The Club’s Land Purchase Fund has been established to help fund acquisitions of interests or rights in real property for the preservation of Pleasure Lake’s watershed, including preservation of open space, brooks or streams flowing into the lake and preservation of forested lands surrounding Pleasure Lake.  (Amended 09/18/2018)”

MEMORIALS
Our FF&BC Memorial Tribute area is a great place for members to remember a past member or loved one in a very special way here at Pleasure Lake.
A patio area with two stone benches has been constructed behind dam (southwest side), & it has been very well received by the members.

Engraved pavers can be purchased for only $50 to remember former members or loved ones who have passed away; those pavers will be mounted on the wall of the dam facing the new memorial patio and benches.  We hope you agree that this is a tasteful and appropriate way to remember those who helped to make Pleasure Lake such a special place.
Feel free to click into our new Memorial Tributes page

on this website for more information.

============================================================================================
NYS Law now also requires all people born in 1997 or after to hold a Boater's Certificate in order to operate a motorboat of any kind.
Please be sure to comply with these important laws to ensure your safety.
